Cody Simms

Cody resides in Los Angeles and, in addition to his work with MCJ, is also co-founder of Climate Changemakers, a climate-focused political action non-profit that got its start in the MCJ Member community. Cody is also co-author of the Amazon-bestselling book Levers: The Framework for Building Repeatability into Your Business.

Cody previously served as Senior Vice President of Climate & Sustainability at Techstars and as an investing Partner in Techstars' institutional venture funds. Cody joined Techstars in 2013 as their first Managing Director in Los Angeles via the Disney Accelerator powered by Techstars.

Earlier in his career, Cody held product leadership roles at StumbleUpon and Yahoo, and he began his product journey at The New York Times, Sprint and NBC Internet / Snap.com. He got into tech in 1999 via pre-IPO Snap.com after he moved to San Francisco to try to get a job using his Chinese language skills and instead accidentally fell into the dotcom boom.

Cody holds a B.A. in History and East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of Kansas and an M.A. in Transnational Communication and Global Media from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
